New Way Of Studying

Here is the post on what the future class is about and also about the new subjects and grading system.

The Future School Program
From what I know, my class was appointed as the future class mainly because of our results in Secondary One. My class's MSG was like 1.83, ranking second in the whole level. Thus, I guess that is the main reason why my class became the future class.

Basically, we are allowed to use our laptops during lessons and a new teaching method is introduced: JITT - Just In Time Teaching. This means that we have to do readings on a particular subject and answer some questions at home before attending the actual lesson in school. This speeds up the process of teaching and learning. This is because on the day of the lesson, the teacher will only explain those questions which most students do not understand and the teacher would not have to explain everything in class. Therefore the JITT teaching method saves time.

The New Subjects

There are two new subjects this year - the Oral Communication (OC) and Independent Studies (IS). Previously, the ACE and OP helped most of us to get A1s. But now, with the OP and ACE set as individual subjects, I find that scoring a A1 has become more difficult. The OC comprises of OP which means we have to speak in class and Current Affairs. The IS comprises of ACE which self-initiated learning and Projects Competition.

Although the difficulty to get and A1 for subjects has increased, but I still hope that all of you can still achieve it. Bye!
